| Research Engineer (Research Scientist) |
The Combustion Monitoring & Control Group at AFR is concentrating on R&D and product development of new diagnostics and sensors for gas turbine engines (jet engines and electric power generating engines). In-house laboratory experiments and field-testing at military and manufacturer locations are performed. Advanced methods in FT-IR emission/absorption spectroscopy, laser diagnostics, and high-speed radiometry using relay optics and fiber optics are developed and applied. Opportunities are available for dynamic, hands-on experimentalists at the BA/BS, MA/MS, and Ph.D. levels. Positions include responsibilities ranging from experimental design, software design, laboratory testing, field testing, and contributing to new research grant proposals. Positions require U.S. citizenship.
